  1. Change relay depending on IP address

It would be nice to be able to setup the relays for LanGuard per Subnet so laptop users would always connect to the local Relay instead of going to the setup on the dashboard. This would then cut down on network traffic when these laptops are located in different subnets across the WAN.

  2. Agentless Scanning using Relay Agents

Since Relay Agents are basically Console-less Languard Servers, and since a lot of people dislike dealing with and managing Agents regardless the Software Vendor not to mention they are probably Tech Supports #1 headache. I would like to see Relay Agents be able to Agentlessly scan their associated LAN, when done, report it back to the Main Languard Server. Possibly removing the need for so many Agents and Tech Supports Time Consumer.

  3. Add Wake On LAN to Agent Scan

I would like to be able to enable "wake up offline computers" for agent scans. Currently this is only an option with scheduled scans, which are much more network intensive. It shouldn't be too hard to have the LANguard server send out a WOL magic packet at the scheduled time for agent scans, what way we can reap the benefits of WOL and agent scans without having to resort to third party WOL software.

  4. Agent performance throttling

LANguard agent should be capable of limiting certain 'counters' like CPU usage, memory usage and bandwidth usage per agent. In large environments and heavy used servers it is not always wanted to unwantedly share this much power to the agent. It finishes faster, but the drawback weighs heavier (some tell us 95% CPU and 500MB mem during a scan). In some cases the downloading of patches is also nicer if it could be limited.

  5. Automatic exclusion of obsolete/superseded patches

When selecting/approving a patch for installation, LanGuard should automatically disable patches that are no longer needed.
E.g. if I select everything that's available for one machine which needs Service Pack 1 for Office 2013, LanGuard should not try to install patches that are included in/superseded by SP1 for Office 2013.

  6. Show if PC is on or off

Could you put a green or red little light next to the PC names to show whether the PC is turned on or off.
Something like a quick ping test every 1-2mins (allow the user to change this) to check the status of the PC.

  7. Option to reboot immediately if no one is logged on

After patching or deploying custom software it is often necessary to reboot. However you obviously don't want to reboot immediately if a user is logged on but there's no reason not to reboot immediately if no one is logged on. It would be nice to add an option to the reboot menu to the effect of: Reboot immediately if no one is logged on else notify user and let them decide. Currently if I choose let user decide and no one happens to be logged into the computer it will wait until a user logs on and then tell them…

  8. Custom Reports

Create custom reports. Much like Spiceworks. I want be able to output anything to excel. Report of Software, computer name, last logged on user, all in one report.

  9. Sub-categories in LanGuard scan profiles

In the scan profiles options when selecting products/patches to scan for, it would be nice, if there would be sub-categories.
Not only "Office" or "Windows", but e.g. Office 2003, Office 2007, Office 2010, ... same for SQL and so on...

  10. Software and licence keys inventory in GFI LANGuard

While doing software inventory on GFI LANGuard, it will be nice to have an option to detect license keys associated with the software (e.g. Office license keys etc.)

  11. Software Audit - Option to Replace Old Software Versions

I would like to see a optional setting that would replace older versions of a software when you do a full/software Audit.

The setting would take older versions of a software for example Adobe Reader 9.5.1, uninstall it, and replace it with Adobe Reader 10.1.3.

  12. Auto-Remediation Schedule

Would love to be able to setup schedule and times when auto-remediation can take place. For instance, we like to scan nightly but only want auto-remediation to take place between certain hours on Sunday only.

  13. Executive reports

At moment of writing the reports in LNSS are all for technicians. It would be nice for our maintenance partners or technicians to hand over an executive report that shows current status of configured group (or all) in just simple graphs. Not the whole report.
So for example overview of missing patches/service packs, changed hardware, general safetylevel, etc.

  14. Scheduled installation of Third Party Applications

I would like to request the consideration of adding the ability to install third party applications (Deploy Custom Software) via the agent. I have computers that are located all over the world and are located in various time zones. A lot of the time, they are powered off while others are powered on. Being able to designate a package to be installed when the agent checks in with the server would be very valuable as I will never be able to have all my systems on at once for a new package rollout. This strategy works exceptionally well for patching…

  15. List remediation date/time and succesful/fail computers

    A general requirement,

We want to list remediation date/time and succesful/failed computers.
Currently there is no such report!

It's important to let IT knows how to find a list to show which computers install patch failed.

  16. Schedule deployment of Languard Agents.

At the moment there is one option for deploying agents. Deploy. I would like to see a scheduler. The ability to schedule the push out of agents during non business hours. Also it would be nice to see a thread adjustment so it doesn't try to push them out 10 at a time, a sliding scale or at least a few options as to how many it can push out at the same time like it does with remediation.

  17. Enable Remote desktop from LANguard

I try to remote enable remote desktop from LANguard. Message shows enable succesfully.
But I still cant remote connect to it. After a little research, I found LANguard did not enable Windows firewall policy about remote desktop to allow the traffic.
    Please correct it...

  18. Apply Patches at when user logs off

Most of the workstations that I manage can be setup to reboot after patches are applied. However, my Jail and other Emergency Service departments are active 24/7. I really need the option to apply patches when the user logs off at the end of a shift.

  19. Display FQDN or IP on LanGuard managed system list and reports

I would like for LanGuard to offer the option to display either the FQDN or IP address of managed systems on all screens and in reports. We manage multiple client email systems that are all named mail.clientname.edu. Since only the first part of the name is displayed in the managed systems list all we see are multiple listings for "mail"
It also appears that some reports lump all results together by system name, so everything appears in one list for system "mail" instead of separating into distinct systems by IP or FQDN. I support the request to have reports list…

  20. Chain Multiple Updates

I would like to suggest that LanGuard be able to detect where there are new versions of applications available or chains of dependent updates and be able to jump to the latst comprehensive update or version (in the case of free software in particular) or chain the updates together so that a single cycle (or at least a few cycles) of remediation will bring a system completely up to date.

We have been using LanGuard for several months now and still have systems that are catching up on their updates. I see how the current functionality is quite sufficient for…
