  1. LanGuard HP UNIX support

It would be a nice feature if the LanGuard supports the HP UNIX machines. In the financial sector a lot of companies use HP UNIX machines in the network.
Also extending the remediation (Patch management, etc) to UNIX machines would be a good idea.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Change default path for agent

It would be interesting to be able to change default path for agent installation when you deploy from the server.

  3. Set a "Timeframe" option under "Vulnerability Assessment options

In our environment, we have a 2 week window of testing patches. This forces us to go through and deselect any patches that we know are in this timeframe when deploying patches to systems. If we were able to create a scanning profile that allowed us to detect all patches outside of a current date (the current options are Last Month, Last Year, and Older Than one Year) it would be much easier for us to just scan our entire network with this scan, and scan our test systems for all missing patches. This would keep us from having to…

  4. Agent "Pull" model with less dependency on active connection to Server

The current Server-Agent model is largely a "Push" architecture rather than a "Pull" architecture - i.e. the scan/remediation jobs are entirely triggered/handled by the LanGuard server or relay agent.

Unfortunately, this almost defeats the point of an agent-based approach, since there are a lot of real-time operations required between agent and server.

I would like to see a future version of LanGuard evolve to a point where the agent is much more autonomous and that operates more on a "Pull" model:
    1) Policy is defined on the server
    a) Server pushes policy update out to any reachable Agent
    b) On…

  6. Agentless Scanning using Relay Agents

Since Relay Agents are basically Console-less Languard Servers, and since a lot of people dislike dealing with and managing Agents regardless the Software Vendor not to mention they are probably Tech Supports #1 headache. I would like to see Relay Agents be able to Agentlessly scan their associated LAN, when done, report it back to the Main Languard Server. Possibly removing the need for so many Agents and Tech Supports Time Consumer.

  7. List remediation date/time and succesful/fail computers

    A general requirement,

We want to list remediation date/time and succesful/failed computers.
Currently there is no such report!

It's important to let IT knows how to find a list to show which computers install patch failed.

  8. Schedule deployment of Languard Agents.

At the moment there is one option for deploying agents. Deploy. I would like to see a scheduler. The ability to schedule the push out of agents during non business hours. Also it would be nice to see a thread adjustment so it doesn't try to push them out 10 at a time, a sliding scale or at least a few options as to how many it can push out at the same time like it does with remediation.

  9. Refresh Needed in Remediation

Manual or automatic refresh is badly needed in the Remediation jobs Details window. It is very frustrating having to toggle between computers in order to view the job changes.

  10. Terminal Server Patching - Install Mode

It would be great if GFI LanGuard had advanced options to put a Windows Terminal Server in "Install Mode" (change user /install), apply my patches, and then put the Terminal Server back in "Execute Mode" (change user /execute).

I have a Terminal Server and need to deploy both Windows and Office patches. (May only be necessary for the Office patches). This would be handy.

    Thanks.

  11. Add Some Roles in LanGuard

Feature requirement: Add Some Roles in LanGuard
Our customers have submitted some suggestion about adding some roles in LanGuard:
Some multi-national enterprises have more than one system or network administrators.
Some of them are in charge of vulnerability scanning and some are in chage of patch management.
They have different roles for IT, eg: IT security Auditor, Client Service (Windows Workstations), Network Engineer (Network equipemnt), OS&DB Engineer (Windows Server and DB server) etc.
But now the GFI LanGuard only has one role --global administrator. And it has full permissions.
I think it will not meet the needs of large-scale companies…

    This is already possible.

Different roles are available in the Central Management Server.

Each Administrator needs to have his own LanGuard instance that he manages, applies and approves patches, reporting is pushed to the central server for a unified view.

  12. Windows Server 2012 Datacenter Core Mode Agent

Enable LanGuard agent functionality in Windows Server 2012 Core Mode (Datacenter Licensing Model). Windows Server 2012 GUI Mode (with Datacenter Licensing) works out of the box so I'd like to see this core mode functionality added. With core becomming a more prominent use with things like Domain Controllers, etc. this would be very nice.

  16. GFI languard-Auto Deletion of Computers in case not reachable

At moment if the computers are not reachable need to delete manually from the database. This is not practical for larger environments and especially multi-sites.The computer get scanned once and not reachable sine then.Either the computer was reformatted or the user is out office for a long time. In such cases we are unable to remove the vulnerabilities. So it will be better if there is an option to delete computers from database if its not reachable in certain days. Appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

  17. Load Balance Relay Servers Assigned by Location

Rather than forcing a sysadmin to manually assign relay agents to machines - which is the only way to meet the <=100 machine per server requirement - build a Relay Server load balancer into the main server.

    Example:

Allow each machine to know that its location (NYC, for example) has more than one relay assigned to that location (NYCRELAY1 and NYCRELAY2 and NYCRELAY3, for example). Have each machine check in the list alphabetically from top to bottom, and each relay should only allow 100 connections. When they hit the max, have the workstation check the next server in the list,…

  18. Re-add the software language for patches

It used to say Mozilla Firefox 23.0 en-us
now I have 20 different pieces of software just name Mozilla Firefox 23.0. I have to open each one to see which one is en-us. This take a long time to do. It's missing from all mozilla, winamp, winrar and winzip
