Marking as ‘started’ as we have a partial solution delivered in version 2.2

What's happening with this feature and indeed the development of Operator. It's too quiet since the GFI take over. Customers are asking us is it worth staying with Kerio products.

Would be very usefull to be able to connect to external sources like mysql db.
Asterisk in many of its distribution (like elastix) already do that.

Where do we see the progress of this development as well as a description of the partial solution delivered? At the moment we can link with Kerio Connect address books and see names of who's calling. Any other ways of connecting contacts?

If Operator would use a simple look-@-phone-number plugin to use the users local address book either on mac or outlook - this would be a great challenge already. Investigate how bria does it - that is awful good.

There is the speed dail option. If operator care resolve the names put in there and display them on the voip phone when a inbound call arrives, this would be awsome. No need for difficult Ldap ore active directory configurations.

As long as I can still disable it, if it doesn't apply to the environment. Personally, I prefer the separation of LDAP Server and phone system PBX. However, I would like to see tighter LDAP integration between Operator and Connect. Specifically, give KO a way to apply individual LDAP user settings in the provisioning script(s) so that Kerio Connect personal address books can optionally be made accessible directly from users' phones. KO and KC could maybe collaborate somehow so that this could all be performed securely. This might satisfy a lot of end-users and make for a nice incentive to run both systems.

Starting with version 2.2, it's possible to configure auto-provisioned phones to query any LDAP server. It's probably not the whole solution you ask for but it is a progress.

This would be a great feature to Operator! Perhaps make it global to apply to all phones?

it would also be nice, to integrate it in autoprovisioning.
So that the Phonedirectory be filled with all extension in KO.
now this is inserted by hand per telephone.. for every new telephone/extension

And the possibility to connect this phonebook to an external database or file, to integrate phonenumbers and adresses e.g. from CRM- or ERP-Systems.
