  1. Whitelist rules which take into consideration sender & recipient

Provide the ability to create a whitelist rule which allows an email through when both the sender are recipient are matched. E.g. Allow emails from abc@out.com to abc@in.com

  2. Different actions for different DNS Blocklists

MailEssentials should allow the admin to configure different actions for different DNS Blocklists. The admin might have more confidence with a DNS Blocklists and may decide to delete emails which are originating from an IP found and that specific DNS Blocklist, whilst quaranting emails originating from IPS found on other DNS Blocklists.

Allow the adminstrator to configure MailEssentials to block an email when multiple checks return positive - e.g. If Keyword Checking and SPF return POSITIVE then DELETE message.

  8. Temporarily block emails from an IP address sending spam

MailEssentials should temporarily block emails originating from an IP address which has already sent a number of emails detected as spam by MailEssentials.

  11. Blocklist / whitelist - remove email address if domain is added

When the admin enters a domain in the Whitelist / Blocklist, MailEssentials should check if there are any email addresses entered for that domain, and should give the option to remove the addresses from the particliar list.

A similiar check shoudl be done when new email addresses are added - the admin should be alerted if the domain is already present in the list.

  12. Avoid Registry entries

All settings which can be configured in the registry should be moved to the main configuration in MailEssentials (possibly in some Advanced portion of the configuration).

  14. DNS Blocklist Exception list

There should be an exception list for the DNS Blocklists. There are times when the mail servers of large organisations (such as gmail) end up on DNS Blocklists. The admin may not want to have their emails checked by the DNS Blocklists, but may still want such emails to be checked by the other anti-spam plugins.

  15. Global log file path

Currently, the administrator has to configure the path for log file for each individual Anti-spam plug-ins in GFI MailEssentials. Ideally, the admin configures the path once, and this would apply to the path of all the anit-spam log files.

  16. Rule based keyword checking

It would be ideal if keyword checking is rule based. Rules can then be assigned to set of users. Apart from that, a different action can be specified for different rules.

Allow sorting of the the Quarantine Search Results. For example, if search by recipient then sort by sender to allow grouping and bulk actions.

  18. Surpress disclaimers being added to specific external domains

Add a facility in disclaimers to surpress a disclaimer being added to specific recipient domains. We have various offices around the world on different TLD's and have no need to attach our lengthy disclaimers. We cannot treat them as internal mail so a disclaimer gets attached.

  19. List Server E-mail sender

When sending a newsletter using the List Server it needs to have an option to choose or set who or what account the e-mail is from. For example

jsmith@mycompany.com is sending out a newsletter but the recipients would see it's from donotreply@mycompany.com

This would allow the sender to not receive replies for the newsletter, keeping their inbox from getting clogged up, and would bounce the e-mail back to the recipient.

  20. Add additional reporting mechanisms to allow review of approved emails

Req: Add additional reporting mechanisms to allow review of approved emails.

As an administrator I would find it extreemly useful to be able to run a report daily, weekly, whatever that provides me with a list of all of the approved messages that users approve from their daily spam reports. This report would ideally include the user whom approved the email, the email itself (subject and link to text/body), the component it was trapped by, and if its something like a specific keyword or IP address, etc that the information is noted accordingly so that as an Administrator I can…
