  1. ME 2010 - Change senders email adress for Quarantine-Reports

Now it's not possible to change the adresse. ME 2010 sends the reports with the same adress as it uses to send the weekly reports to. im my case the users think, that they get the quarantine-report from me. so they call me to ask what to do...

  2. Automatically delete old items from the users' spam folders

MailEssentials should automatically remove emails older than a pre-defined period of time from the users' spam folders. These folders are the ones created created in Exchange when the feature Deliver email in Exchange mailbox sub-folder' is selected.

The same option can be valid when MailEssentials is moving emails to the Exchange Junk folder.

  3. More features to be done at SMTP level

Some features which check the sender's IP address or the sender's or recipient's SMTP email addresses can be checked at SMTP level. This would include features like SPF, DNSBlocklist, email Blocklist / Whitelist etc.

  4. Filtering by IP in Dashboard

The Dashboard should allow the administrator to filter by the sending server's IP address. This will make it easier for the admin to whitelist / block specific IP addresses.

  5. Encryption of emails

Emails should be automatically encrypted (at gateway level by MailEssentials) using the encryption key of the recipient or recipient's domain.

  6. Dashboard filtering on inbound/outbound emails.

Filter 2: From corporative domain to externals domain

  7. Quarantine

Can we please have the Quarantine columns "sizeable"?

Since the sender, recipient, subject fields might be very long (we're dealing with spams here), could we please either autofit or truncate the field?

When mouse-over the field, then display the entire field.

These will make the GUI much friendlier and useable.

  9. domain based auto-replies

Hav the possibility to create an auto-repy based on the domain so that it affects all emails going to that domain.

  10. Different actions for the various SPF block levels

It would be a good idea to be able to define different actions based on the result of SPF. For example, softfails are tagged, while hardfails are deleted.

  11. Describtion for Perimeter Server / IP Whitelist entries

Allow the administrator to specify a describtion for the entries (IP addresses / ranges) in the Perimeter Server list and IP Whitelist.

  12. support for IP ranges in the perimeter servers list

The perimeter servers list should support IP ranges. This would be useful when emails are being passed through a hosted service before being relayed to MailEssentials. Such services would normally make use of hundreds of IP addresses.

  13. Allow SPF entries in the Whitelist

Allow the administrator to whitelist an SPF record. It is easier easy to enter spf-a.hotmail.com rather than all the IP addresses used by hotmail (which would include ip4:209.240.192.0/19 ip4:65.52.0.0/14 ip4:131.107.0.0/16 ip4:157.54.0.0/15 ip4:157.56.0.0/14 ip4:157.60.0.0/16 ip4:167.220.0.0/16 ip4:204.79.135.0/24 ip4:204.79.188.0/24 ip4:204.79.252.0/24 ip4:207.46.0.0/16 ip4:199.2.137.0/24).

This also makes the whitelist entries less static, since any changes to the IP addresses of an organisation will normally be reflected in the SPF record, and thus will be automatically taken into account by MailEssentials.

  14. Autoreply as Out-of-Office assistant...

I find it hard to get our mailserver to send out OoO-notes when not in. Sometimes I hear that those are not received at all; the majority is not notified. Probably also because of scanning for these OoO-replies on the receiving end. Wouldn't it be nice to send out an email with the Autoreplies-module (making separate email all the time), instead of using the module that creates house-keeping messages. It crosses the RFC probably, since it is not handled like the RFC tells you to, but at least it is more errorfree I guess.

  15. Listserver interface

It would be nice to be able to make/influence the list of members on a mailinglist outside MailEssentials. Now you need Access to open the MDB-file, but a webinterface or importtool would make this job easier.
The list could easily be altered by the following syntaxis, uploadable via webinterface (for example)
    user1@domain.com, 0, %listname% (unsubscribe user 1, if in list X)
    user2@domain.com, 1, %listname% (subscribe user 2, if in list X)

  16. Breakup Spam Digest

Can we have the reports in the spam digest break up the list of spam emails by filter to match the distribution section of the report? It would make searching it easier for those users that receive large reports.

  17. NDR Checking

How about the ability to automatically lookup domains before sending an NDR to insure that they are valid?

  18. Whitelist Keyword

As an option to control people changing their Out of Office. How about the ability to add a keyword to the subject line for an e-mail to be auto-whitelisted? For some companies, with a lot of different auto-replies, it would alleviate having spammer domains auto whitelisted.

  19. Queueing area for emails

Is there anyway to have an option to have a queueing area for Mail Essentials? So rather than an email getting filtered it would go into a queue and you could approve or filter email from there? This way you would be able to have the email go direct to the user if it were a false positive rather than forward it and have about a 95% chance of getting the reply back from the user. Posibbly have it set to process after a certain amount of time? IE after 3 hours in the queue it would process and filter.

  20. Domain Key signing of outgoing mail

This would help deliverability of email to other servers (ie. prevents our outgoing email getting spam trapped).
