What we can suggest is to ask them to be zipped and with a password. You would require to allow encrypted archives to go through.

Also you could reduce the level of blocking to the lowest level for the Trojan and Exe engine.

Templates can be changed and the only point to note is that on upgrades they would be reverted back.

    Templates are located in:
    \GFI\MailEssentials\Templates

In particular I believe the one you are after is in the folder securityreport

Each folder corresponds to 1 template. Some basic HTML knowledge is required to modify the templates. Please take backups of the originals prior doing any modifications. GFI cannot guarantee what happens if the templates are made incompatible and fail to be processed correctly however minor text adjustments should not cause any issues.

Note: Typically between upgrades some templates can be updated however this is not frequently done. So after any upgrade if the backup modified template is kept it's a process of replacing some files.

    Hi

GFI does actively monitor the feedback customers give. In GFI MailEssentials over the past year we have implemented a lot of new features.

In 2014 GFI MailEssentials has a completely new auto update mechanism and also a total new way of supporting multiple installations. All these features have been introduced simply to facilitate the customer experience and make GFI MailEssentials a better solution for email administrators.

The feedback forum is one of the easiest ways for our customers to interact with us and show us their pain points and what they would like to see. We do not solely based the features of the product solely on votes but also on importance and other security implementations that we are bound to implement in GFI MailEssentials.

Thanks for posting in this forum and help us improve GFI MailEssentials.

    regards
    Ian Bugeja
    Product Manager

What level of Security for this do you use? Low, Medium or High?

We do not suggest to delete emails automatically for the Log and Medium setting since this can lead to false positives.

However what you suggest is possible by using a Search folder with the Auto purge enabled. Please see the above attached image on how to set such a folder.

We will be adding such functionality to GFI MailEssentials 2014 but from within Outlook.

More information will be available later on this year.

The add to whitelist/add to blocklist should be available. It is just hidden if the personal blocklist/whitelist is disabled.

Users can only add entries to their personal lists and not the global one.

The reason for having the dashboard as the default page is that any alerts or issues in the product can be identified from the dashboard page.

We will be augmenting such events / alerts in upcoming releases.

Have a look at the RSS feeds. You would subscribe to one and this would automatically refresh.

RSS feeds can be created on Search Folders and you can create a folder which captures both spam and malware.

This is possible. Simply use IIS for your GFI MailEssentials configuration and set a forward rule on your firewall to have Web interface of GFI MailEssentials accessible from the www.

For filtering you can go to the Windows Events log and use the MMC to filter. The event log is called GFI MailEssentials and is found under Application and Services Log

This is possible with a simple tweak

Open the following file in notepad:
    \GFI\MailEssentials\wwwconf\pages\MailSecurity\DisclaimerHTML.ascx

    Locate the following line:
    { title: 'Tahoma', inline: 'span', styles: { 'font-family': 'Tahoma'} },

Add your own font underneath, in similar syntax.
    eg:
    { title: 'Calibri', inline: 'span', styles: { 'font-family': 'Calibri'} },

Refresh your browser page for changes to take effect.

IMPORTANT: Please take a backup of the modified file in case you need to go back to the original. All added fonts need to be installed on the system that they are used by.

This is possible. You would have to create a content filtering rule which blocks emails which have [SPAM] in subject and are Outbound

    Have a look at http://kb.gfi.com/articles/SkyNet_Article/KBID003253

Basically using raw searches one can query dtsearch (MailArchiver's internal search engine) directly.

More of the query syntax can be found http://support.dtsearch.com/webhelp/dtsearch/regular_.htm

You can define which administrators have access to the configuration by following this article
    http://kb.gfi.com/articles/SkyNet_Article/How-to-restrict-access-to-the-GFI-MailArchiver-configuration

also note that the Full Access Users have access to the emails and admins do not necessarily members of this group

Drop-down populates on it's own when you start typing in first few letters. This is so for large Active Directories who have thousands of users. Scrolling through thousands of users is much more problematic and slow.

Using GFI MailArchiver 2012 you can simply re archive a whole folder and this would not take any space in your stores simply because we use Single Instance Storage SIS.

Also the Outlook Addon has an option to delete an email after X days it was manually archived.

The GFI MailArchiver Import Export tool automatically pauses when the queue folder exceeds it's limit
